I would say that your new address is not yet in the address system for the Post Office, especially since you say that it is a new street and the first house on it. Talk to your local PO and ask them to add your street and number range. It shouldn't take too many days for address management to get it added to the carriers scheme and then the system will recognize the new address. From my own experience, after I took a Civil Service Test (required for a government job, which the Postal Service is classified), I had to wait for the results of course. When I learned I passed it, I had to wait for the job offers to come in the mail (several did, for everything BUT the Postal Service for quite a while). I didn't need the things you mentioned, but I took the test over 30 years ago, so things have probably changed. Talk to your local post-master and ask how to go about it. Q. I have applied for the postal exam and recieved an announcement number. However, I have not recieved anything in the mail and the test is in two weeks.
